Are you a writer -- or an aspiring writer -- looking for some support? The Tewksbury Writing Group, which generally meets the fourth Monday evening of every month, is open to everyone who's interested in writing -- all genres, all skill levels. Each meeting -- which will take place via Zoom -- features a guest speaker (typically a published author or editor) offering some tips of the trade. 

The April 2023 guest speaker is Baron R. Birtcher. Baron R Birtcher is the LA Times and IMBA bestselling author of the hardboiled Mike Travis series (Roadhouse Blues, Ruby Tuesday, Angels Fall, and Hard Latitudes), the award-winning Ty Dawson series (South California Purples, Fistful Of Rain, and Reckoning), as well as the critically-lauded stand-alone, Rain Dogs. Birtcher is a five-time winner of the Silver Falchion Award, and the winner of 2018's Killer Nashville Readers Choice Award, as well as the 2019 Best Book of the Year. He has also had the honor of having been named a finalist for the Nero Award, the Lefty award, the Foreword Indie Award, the Claymore Award, and the Pacific Northwest's regional Spotted Owl Award. The group is facilitated by author Dale T. Phillips, who has published novels, story collections, non-fiction, and over 70 short stories. Stephen King was Dale's college writing teacher. Dale has found time to appear on stage, television, radio, in an independent feature film, and compete on Jeopardy (losing in a spectacular fashion). He's a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the Sisters in Crime.
