**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VIRTUAL PROGRAM THAT WILL TAKE PLACE VIA ZOOM. Registrants will receive a link to access the Zoom Webinar via email.**

The Tewksbury Genealogy Group is open to everyone who's interested in genealogy. Each meeting -- which will take place via Zoom -- consists of a presentation from a guest speaker (typically a professional genealogist), followed by a period where members can briefly share their latest genealogy research, and then the library will share a genealogy resource its patrons can access for free.

The month's featured presentation is "Penning The Perfect Obit." No one likes to think about writing an obituary, and yet this small contribution to the weekly newspaper is a vital narrative. Obituaries can celebrate life, personality, struggles and triumphs. Unfortunately, obituaries are often left to the last minute, relying on the most willing family member to dig up details. Why not take a moment now to write that obit? Do it for yourself or do it for a friend! We'll examine a variety of obituaries, then discuss standard framework and structure, then brainstorm big life highlights to include and, finally, we’ll scribble it all down. Participants will leave with a rough draft to polish. Led by Erin E. Moulton, who writes books and tracks dead people. In addition to her creative pursuits, Erin has over 12 years of experience tracking down interesting real-life questions at the reference desk and is a librarian and genealogist. She holds a BA from Emerson College, an MFA in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a certificate in genealogical research from Boston University.
