From El Greco to Picasso, Spanish artists have made unique and influential contributions to the history of art. In this survey of Spanish painting, we will explore the work of El Greco from the 16th century, Diego Velasquez and Jusepe de Ribera from the 17th century, Francisco Goya from the late 18th and early 19th century, Joaquin Sorolla from the late 19th century, and Pablo Picasso, Jaun Gris, Joan Miro, and Salvador Dali from the 20th century. Led by Martha Chiarchiaro, owner of Seeing History, who has brought history to life through the art of the times for more than 30 years. She received her Masters’ degree in the History of Art from Williams College and provides a variety of art history presentations at the Worcester Art Museum, libraries, senior centers, and a variety of garden clubs.
