VIRTUAL: Researching Your Armenian Roots
Tuesday, November 127:00—8:00 PMOnlineTewksbury Public Library300 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA, 01876
**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VIRTUAL PROGRAM THAT WILL TAKE PLACE VIA ZOOM. Registrants will receive a link to access the Zoom Webinar via email.**
Through work, diligence, and determination, you can find records to try to expand what you know about your Armenian family history. The common misconception that all records related to Armenian heritage have been completely erased has been disproved with the help of social media, DNA testing and crowd-sourced translation projects that are bringing new Armenian documents to light. Review how available records can help the Armenian community reclaim its identity and find agency in the face of the crimes that misplaced and separated Armenian families over the last 125 years. Led by George Aghjayan, Director of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Archives. Aghjayan has been actively researching Armenian genealogy for several decades, and is a frequent contributor to the Armenian Weekly, and the creator and curator westernarmenia.weebly.com, a website dedicated to the preservation of Armenian culture in Western Armenia.
Register directly on Zoom HERE. Presented in collaboration with the Memorial Hall Library in Andover.
RECORDING NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program.
