With our increasing dependence on quick texts and emails, we are losing the art of making conversation. This presentation will provide helpful networking tips to job seekers, including how to build conversations with confidence; how to start, maintain, and wrap up a conversation; and solutions to common conversation quandaries. People who cringe at networking or making small talk with strangers will find this hour beneficial. Led by Janet Parnes, a social conversation and etiquette expert, who equips people with the skills to make them feel valued, understood, and heard to help them build their careers and businesses. Prior to starting her own business in 2005 and graduating from the Protocol School of Washington, Parnes spent more than 20 years in sales and public relations, working for companies that include Analog Devices, Lipton Tea, and international PR agency Porter Novelli. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
