VIRTUAL PROGRAM: Tewksbury History Series -- Reflections of the Ella E. Flemings School

Tuesday, November 97:00—8:00 PMOnlineTewksbury Public Library300 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA, 01876

The Ella E. Flemings School is an historic gem located in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Originally a one-room school built in 1859, the Ella E. Flemings School is representative of the educational needs of a by-gone era. However, this school continued to serve the children of Tewksbury until it was closed in 2004. Join Bill Pavao as he discusses the history of the school including some of the people who were important in educating children in North Tewksbury for almost 150 years.

About The Speaker: Bill Pavao, a former Tewksbury resident, was educated in the Tewksbury Public Schools through grade nine. Even though he never attended the Ella E. Flemings School, he has been interested in the history of the school since he was a boy. Mr. Pavao has channeled that interest into an upcoming book about the history of the Ella E. Flemings School and its role within the North Tewksbury community. He has been a Social Studies teacher in the Quincy Public School System since 1998. He holds a B.S. in history from Fitchburg State University and a M.Ed. from Eastern Nazarene College.
