**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VIRTUAL PROGRAM THAT WILL TAKE PLACE VIA ZOOM. Registrants will receive a link to access the Zoom Meeting via email.**

The Tewksbury Genealogy Group, which generally meets the fourth Tuesday evening of every month, is open to everyone who's interested in genealogy. Each meeting -- which will take place via Zoom -- consists of a presentation from a guest speaker (typically a professional genealogist), followed by a period where members can briefly share their latest genealogy research, and then the library will share a genealogy resource its patrons can access for free.

The presentation for the August meeting is Opa! It's All Greek To Me: Researching Your Greek Ancestors. Opa! It is a marvelous time to be Greek! Your Greek Genealogical Odyssey starts here. Conducting Greek genealogy can be challenging even for those who can speak and read Greek. Many first- and second-generation Greek immigrants do not even know their grandparents’ names or even the exact village where their parents originated. Attendees will learn the first steps to conducting Greek research and what resources are available here in America, which will unlock records in Greece. This presentation by "The Ancestor Finder" Kathleen Kaldis, a professional genealogist and lecturer, will be helpful for both individuals who emigrated to the United States post-World War II and for those who have ancestors who emigrated before World War II.
