VIRTUAL: New England Shorebirds

Friday, September 221:00—2:00 PMOnlineTewksbury Public Library300 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA, 01876

**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VIRTUAL PROGRAM THAT WILL TAKE PLACE VIA ZOOM. Registrants will receive a link to access the Zoom Webinar via email.**

Shorebirds are one of the most interesting and diverse groups of birds. New Englanders have the opportunity to observe not only species that nest in our area (e.g., Killdeer, Piping Plover), but also shorebirds that pass through our area on their long spring and fall migrations (e.g., Whimbrel, White-rumped Sandpiper). Learn about the different species of shorebirds and explore each species’ feeding ecology, habit preferences, and migration strategy, as well as when they can be expected to arrive or pass through our area each year. Led by Bill Gette, Founding Director of Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport.
