Thinking about business ownership, but not willing to take on the risk of starting your own business from scratch? It may be time to consider franchising. From consulting to restaurants, from gyms to service-based businesses, from home based to personal services, franchising offers a wide range of opportunities for entrepreneurs.  In this workshop, you will learn: (1) What is franchising?; (2) What's the difference between owning a franchise and starting my own business?; (3) Types of franchises available; (4) Where to find out about franchise opportunities; (5) Initial investment requirements; (6) How COVID affected small businesses and franchises; and (7) Is business ownership in general, right for you? You will leave this workshop with a better understanding of the pros and cons of independent business ownership and franchises.

Led by franchise ownership coach Suzanne Gray, who has been coaching people who are exploring franchises since 2005. Gray assists individuals in career transition clarify their unique personal and professional goals and determine if business ownership would be a good fit. She has helped hundreds of clients find their path from corporate roles to business ownership. Her strong leadership, communication and motivational skills have enabled her effectively assist individuals as they research career options, and find financial independence through franchise business ownership. Tapping into her coaching and career transition expertise, Gray created and executed Career Transitions of Greater Boston, a weekly workshop for job seekers. After developing content and then presenting the material, Gray saw great success with these workshops, as more than 650 job seekers attended over a five-year period.  She is a former Board Member of the Association of Career Professionals. In 2014, Suzanne and her husband invested in Mosquito Squad of Cape Cod. So she fully understands the pros and cons of franchise and business ownership. Gray is active in her community and serves as Planning Board Chair for the Town of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire. When she is not working, Suzanne enjoys downhill skiing, sailing, and enjoying long walks with Molly Oh! her standard poodle.
