About The Author: Andrew Lam, M.D. is a retina surgeon and the award-winning author of three prior books: Saving Sight, an Amazon bestseller about his medical career; Two Sons of China, a novel of WWII in China that was a 2014 Foreword Reviews Book of the Year Award winner, and Repentance, a novel of Japanese Americans in WWII that was a 2020 finalist for the Massachusetts Book Award. Before becoming a physician, he earned a history degree from Yale University. His writing has appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times and the Washington Post. He has authored numerous scientific articles, is a co-investigator for several national clinical trials, and is currently an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
