Join composer/pianist Clint Edwards for an interesting and insightful jazzy-journey through the Big Band era. Explore the great bands, legendary band leaders, and virtuosic musicians, with stories, musical analysis, and plentiful performance clips from the era. In Part #1, explore the early days of dance bands (1910's and 1920's) and how they grew into the more famous outfits of the superstar-bandleaders like Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and Count Basie (1930's and 1940's).
Clint Edwards is a composer, arranger, and pianist. His compositions and arrangements have been performed around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, WQXR, Joe’s Pub, The Green Room 42, and The Eugene O’Neill Theater Conference, as well as in concert venues throughout England, Holland, Australia, Germany, South Korea, and Poland. He is the winner of the 2019 Broadway World Award for "Best Independent Album Release." As a pianist, he regularly gives more than 350 performances a year in the New York City metropolitan area.
