Join bestselling author Dr. Kate Clifford Larson for a presentation on her new book, Walk with Me: A Biography of Fannie Lou Hamer, via Zoom. A woman born into the grinding poverty and racism of the Mississippi Delta, civil rights leader and women's rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer rose to become the voice of the unheard and the conscience of a nation, leading the fight for freedom and equality in America during the 1960's and 1970's. Larson -- the author of Bound for the Promised Land: Harriet Tubman, Portrait of an American Hero; Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter; and The Assassin's Accomplice: Mary Surratt and the Plot to Kill Abraham Lincoln -- has consulted on feature film scripts, documentaries, museum exhibits, public history initiatives, and numerous publications, and appeared on CBS Sunday Morning, the BBC, PBS, C-Span, and NPR.
