Bestselling author Andrew Joseph White (The Spirit Bares Its Teeth) and author H.E. Edgmon (Godly Heathens) will discuss their recently released books in this fun conversation suitable for both teen and adult readers.
The Spirit Bares Its Teeth is a Young Adult (YA) historical horror novel which follows an autistic trans boy in alternate history Victorian London who is sent to a finishing school/asylum for 'troubled girls' that's haunted by the ghosts of murdered residents. Godly Heathens is a Young Adult (YA) contemporary fantasy novel which follows a nonbinary Seminole teen who finds out they’re a reincarnated god from another world -- and that other gods from their pantheon seek to kill them, once and for all.
Andrew Joseph White is a queer, trans author from Virginia, where he grew up falling in love with monsters and wishing he could be one too. He received his MFA in Creative Writing from George Mason University in 2022. Andrew writes about trans folks with claws and fangs, and what happens when they bite back. He is the New York Times and Indie Bestselling author of Hell Followed With Us. H.E. Edgmon is an author of queer speculative fiction across genres. Haunted and hopeful, his work aims to offer levity without flinching from hard truths. In his writing and his daily life, H.E. will always prioritize the pursuit of an Indigenous future, the safety of our most vulnerable, and making a terrible joke whenever possible. He is the author of the The Witch King duology.
