Join Jeff Klapes, the Traveling Librarian, for his newest armchair travel presentation. This series highlights travel photography and stories and travel tips about destinations around the world. This month, travel to Yucatan, Mexico. Merida, located in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, is a vibrant city known for its colonial architecture, rich cultural heritage, and proximity to ancient Mayan ruins. The surrounding area is home to several significant archaeological sites, including the impressive ruins of Uxmal and Chichen Itza, as well as charming towns like Izamal and Valladolid. Jeff is the retired Head of Reference Services at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and an avid traveler and photographer.
