Travel to Hong Kong and Macau, the last colonies that were returned to China in 1997 and 1999 respectively. Witness the unique mixing of cultures. Observe the Portuguese influence when walking the streets of Macau, which is also known as the Las Vegas of the east. See the British influence with Victorian-era buildings in Hong Kong. Enjoy views of the iconic Hong Kong skyline. Marvel at the giant Buddha on Lantau Island. Led by retired high school teacher Sheila Taub, who now presents illustrated talks on her travels at libraries, senior centers, community centers and cruise ships.
