In celebration of Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, explore well-known and lesser-known African American art created in the years and decades after emancipation. Led by Meg Black, Ph.D., past chair of Art Education at Salem State University and owner of Meg Black Studio. Her artwork has been included in many public collections, including with the U.S. Department of State and in U.S. embassies around the world. Black has been published in scholarly journals, presented at academic conferences, and appeared on WCVB's Chronicle and HGTV's "Our Place."
