Iceland sits atop the North Atlantic Ridge halfway between America and Europe. Outside of Reykjavik, the country is sparsely populated and ruggedly beautiful. Volcanoes under the glaciers make for interesting landscape and history. Travel with Jack in the south and west of this land of fire and ice. Holmes is a travel photographer and owner of "Images From Near and Far" at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. A retired high school teacher, he previously served as President of the Greater Lynn Photographic Association and Gallery Manager of the Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell. Holmes regularly gives armchair travel presentations to senior centers and libraries in the area.
