Learn about two influential acts of rebellion that occurred before the American Revolution -- the Stamp Act riots in Rhode Island in 1765 and the Regulator Rebellion in North Carolina from 1766 to 1771. Led by Abby Chandler, an Associate Professor of Early American History at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and author of the new book, Seized with the Temper of the Times: Identity and Rebellion in Pre-Revolutionary America. Chandler, who has has published numerous articles on political movements in eighteenth-century British North America in several journals, serves on the 250th American Revolution Anniversary Commission in Massachusetts.
