TEWKSBURY JOB SEEKERS NETWORK: How To Create The Perfect Cover Letter

Monday, November 252:00—3:30 PMMeeting RoomTewksbury Public Library300 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA, 01876

A cover letter must have three paragraphs. It must be simple, polite, professional, and----Forget that! If you follow the old advice, any cover letter you write won’t help you land the interview. At this presentation you’ll hear how you should write the modern cover letter. You’ll learn why you must incorporate personal branding and why you must differentiate yourself from your competition.

Led by Edward Lawrence, the founder and principal of Getstarted LLC, through which he offers practical job-search advice, résumé-writing services, and skills assessments to help people gain meaningful employment or transition to a new career. A certified technical trainer for over thirty years, Lawrence himself transitioned to coaching and soft-skills training by studying under some of the area’s best counselors, and by volunteering with agencies, such as The Institute for Career Transitions and Career Collaborative. He is a certified professional résumé writer (CPRW). For over two years, Lawrence has facilitated a practice-interview group at the Framingham Public Library.

There will be plenty of time for networking after the presentation. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
