PUBLIC SAFETY WEEK: Fire Safety For Senior Citizens

Thursday, June 2012:30—1:30 PMMeeting RoomTewksbury Public Library300 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA, 01876

Things change as we age. In the 1970s we had about 15 minutes to escape the typical home fire; today we have less than 3. Learn about the fire risks older adults face and some strategies for protecting ourselves, our aging parents and our grandchildren from fire. Jennifer Mieth  who has worked for the Office of the State Fire Marshal since 1984 will talk about Massachusetts fire data, fire prevention and fire survival strategies. You will leave with a clear understanding of your role in the safety of your own community, because fire is everyone’s fight. Mieth will be joined by members of the Tewksbury Fire Department. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
