Chris Connolly, RN, BSN, owner of "Living My Dream Yoga," will lead a 6-week series of outdoor meditation class. Classes will take place from 3pm to 4pm over six consecutive Fridays -- September 10, September 17, September 24, October 1, October 8, and October 15 -- on the library's back lawn. This class is designed for both those who are new to meditation and regular practitioners. Participants will practice a different type of meditation at each class -- (1) Metta (loving kindness) Meditation, (2) Sound Meditation; (3) Walking Meditation; (4) Autogenic Relaxation Meditation; (5) iRest Yoga Nidra; and (6) Mudra (hand gestures) Meditation. Classes will begin with 15-20 minutes of centering and breathing practice, leading into some gentle stretching/yoga to prepare the body and mind for meditation. After the meditation, there will an integration process to allow participants to return to their daily life. Connolly, a retired 43-year registered nurse, is a certified 500-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher, and Reiki II Practitioner. Learn more about Connolly HERE.
