For a special spooky edition of Other Worlds we'll be reading Gideon the Ninth, the first book in New Zealand author Tamsyn Muir's Locked Tomb series. The first book follows Gideon Nav, a wise-cracking orphan raised on a planet that worships the dead and protects a mysterious locked tomb. Gideon plots to escape, but her childhood enemy, Harrowhark, the Reverend Daughter of the Ninth House and accomplished necromancer, has been invited by the Emperor to compete with the other eight houses to become immortal Lyctors, and she requires Gideon to serve as her cavalier. 

Copies of the book are available at the Front Desk one month prior to meeting.
