Join Gary Goshgarian, award-winning Professor Emeritus of English at Northeastern University, for an illustrative lecture on the 10 basic elements that make a mystery or thriller successful. This presentation is perfect for avid readers of the genres as well as anyone interested in writing a mystery or thriller of their own. Goshgarian, who has taught fiction-writing workshops through the United States and Europe, will make references to well-known mysteries and thrillers during his presentation, as well as highlight examples from his own work. Under the pen name "Gary Braver," Goshgarian is the bestselling and award-winning author of 10 mysteries and medical thrillers. His novels have been translated into seventeen languages, and three have been optioned for movies, including Elixir by director Ridley Scott. After the event, signed copies of his latest thriller, Rumor of Evil, will be available for purchase to anyone interested.
