Come explore the historical legacy and contemporary cultural heritage of one of Europe’s oldest and most significant pilgrimages. Join Kristine Malpica on a visual and musical odyssey along the 500 mile El Camino de Santiago pilgrimage across France and Spain, which attracts thousands of international travelers each year. This fun, informative armchair pilgrim adventure features original live music, travel tales, tips and more! Malpica received a Gilman International Study Abroad Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State, which funded her initial Camino pilgrimage and research. She later received a UMass Boston Beacon Success Fellowship for her archaeolocial and ethnographic fieldwork in Spain related to the Camino. Q&A after the presentation.
