Along with a short reading of "Into the Jungle," named one of this summer's best thrillers by the New York Times, Erica Ferencik will present a slideshow from her month-long research trip to the Peruvian Amazon. Her book tells the story of one woman's terrifying journey of survival in the Amazonian jungles.

Ferencik is also the author of "The River At Night," which Oprah chose as a #1 Pick, calling the book “the page-turning novel you’ve been waiting for, a heart-pounding debut.” Entertainment Weekly named it a “Must Read,” calling it “harrowing…a visceral, white knuckle rush.” Miramax recently optioned the novel for a film. Her work has also appeared in Salon and The Boston Globe, as well as on National Public Radio. A book signing and selling will take place after the event for those interested.
