Attention Stranger Things fans! Author Joseph Vogel ("Stranger Things and the '80s: The Complete Retro Guide") will reveal his ultimate companion book to the hit show and the era that inspired it. Dive deep into the world of the 1980's and examine all of the show's references, homages and artifacts, from arcades, Ataris, BMX bikes, MTV, and Radio Shack to Carl Sagan, Ronald Reagan, Eggos, Steve's hair, and mom jeans. Learn about the parallels between the show and the 1982 classic film, E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial; the significance of The Clash's hit song, "Should I Stay Or Should I Go," the importance of Dungeons & Dragons; and the connections to a host of '80s books and movies, including Stand By Me, IT, The Things, Aliens, and The Goonies. Joseph Vogel is an Assistant Professor at Merrimack College.
