Join us for a fascinating look at the history of America’s game with UMass Lowell Professor Frank Morris. Learn how baseball galvanized a divided nation in the 19th century and developed into “America’s Pastime” as an allegory to our cultural identity in the decades to come. Includes a history of the Boston Red Sox and a look at how the game both reinforced and challenged key cultural themes over time. Frank has taught at several colleges in Massachusetts as an associate English Professor of Literature, Writing, and American Culture. He lectures around New England on literature and sports in American culture. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
